The hospital was set up to provide comprehensive services for spinal injuries. Spinal injury management requires multidisciplinary treatment which is perhaps the most cost ineffective as compared to that of any other ailment. Once the spinal injury services were well established we focused more attention on strengthening the services for other specialties of Spine, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurology, Urology, Rheumatology, Chest Medicine and Plastic surgery. These are specialties anyway required for Spinal Injury Management and letting them work within their full scope would help in retaining the professionals and help increase revenue generation through a faster turnover (which is very slow for spinal injury) and more optimal utilization of diagnostics and infrastructure.
